At ROC Psychiatry, we believe in a patient-centered approach to mental health care. We take the time to listen and work collaboratively with you, the patient, to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses your unique needs and goals.
We offer a range of psychiatric services with a focus on diagnostic assessment and medication management. We provide supportive psychotherapy and are happy to collaborate with community therapists. Both in-person and telepsychiatry appointments are available.
We do not accept insurance at this time. However, patients may submit itemized receipts or "super bill" (upon request) to their insurance companies. Patients are often reimbursed the out-of-network provider rate. Insurance providers often differ in their reimbursement policies and it is important to review your coverage carefully. Consult with your insurer to address any questions.
Payment is due at the time of service. You will be able to provide your credit/debit card through the patient portal once established.
Our initial appointment is a chance for the provider to get to know you, perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and decide the appropriate course of treatment for you. It is also an opportunity for you to determine your comfort level in continuing to work with the provider. It should be understood that meeting for the first time does not guarantee that the provider can continue to see you as a patient and may need to refer you to a more appropriate level of care or provider.
Yes. Telemedicine services are available for patients in New York State. Although we do offer telemedicine appointments, there may be times that your provider may require and in-person visit.
The primary focus of a psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP) is to provide psychiatric medication management services in a supportive and therapeutic environment. Although NP's are trained in psychotherapy, it is often more beneficial to see a therapist in the community if you choose to do so. This is particularly helpful if you need frequent appointments and/or contact to address deeper issues and concerns. We are happy to collaborate with your community therapist, or provide referrals if needed, to ensure comprehensive care.
